Timothy Lacrosse



A native of Springfield, Virginia, Timothy LaCrosse is an accomplished violist and teacher who performs throughout the United States and the world. He is a tenured member of The Huntsville Symphony Orchestra and has previously served as Principal Violist of the National Symphony of Panama, where he was the Visiting Professor of Viola at The University of Panama. He holds degrees in Viola Performance from The Juilliard School and Yale School of Music.

How I got started playing my instrument

My mother was a general music teacher and pushed the violin on my sister and me from an early age.  I began playing the viola at the age of 10 when my family was living in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
