RAIN or SHINE!

Symphony in the Park is back! We’re playing a FREE concert  on Thursday, June 9, conducted by Maestro Victor Yampolsky, who will also be conducting our Season Finale on June 11 and June 12 at the Blaisdell Concert Hall.

This family-friendly program will feature popular and classical favorites from Beethoven, Bizet, Tchaikovsky, Rogers & Hammerstein and more.

A special prelude concert featuring vocalist Alyssa Manley will begin at 4:30 p.m.

Symphony in the Park is presented by Kailua Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by Alexander & Baldwin with support from Le Jardin Academy.

This is a free event! No tickets required.

What should I bring? 

  • Lawn chairs or a blanket
  • Picnic dinner or snacks
  • Non-alcoholic beverages (please note alcohol is NOT permitted in the park)
  • The whole family!

Please note that dogs are NOT allowed in the park. Thank you for your cooperation!

Esteemed teacher, conductor, and violinist Victor Yampolsky serves as Carol F. and Arthur L. Rice Jr. University Professor in Music Performance at the Northwestern University Bienen School of Music; Music Director of the Peninsula Music Festival in Door County, Wisconsin; Music Director Emeritus of the Omaha Symphony, as well as the Honorary Director of the Scotia Festival of Music in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Born in the Soviet Union in 1942, Yampolsky — the son of the great pianist Vladimir Yampolsky — studied violin with the legendary David Oistrakh at the Moscow Conservatory (1961-1966) and conducting with Maestro Nicolai Rabinovich at the Leningrad Conservatory (1968-1973). He was a member of the Moscow Philharmonic as both violinist and assistant conductor, under the direction of renowned Maestro Kyrill Kondrashin.
