Hawaii Symphony Orchestra Associates
We appreciate your interest in the Hawaii Symphony Orchestra Associates and are pleased to convey the following descriptive information:
We are a self-run group of volunteers who share an appreciation of live symphonic music and a desire to support the Hawaii Symphony Orchestra (HSO). Some of us know a great deal about classical music, although such knowledge is not necessarily expected. You will find our members to be friendly and informal; we come from a variety of backgrounds and experiences and therefore bring a variety of interests and talents. We meet monthly and welcome your attendance. Once you decide to become an official member, we ask you to pay annual dues of $35, which give us seed money for events.
October 6 at Temple Emanu-el | 10:00 a.m.
October 7 at HSO Office | 6:00 p.m.
We have duplicate meetings each month to accommodate our members’ schedules. Meetings are the first Tuesday of each month from 10 am-11:15 at Temple Emanu-el, 2550 Pali Hiwy. Also the first Wednesday at the HSO Office, 3610 Waialae Ave. from 5:30 to 6 we have pupu pau hana and then we meet from 6:00-7:15.
Our activities are governed by our mission statement. Over the course of a year, such activities might include: planning and executing a major fund-raiser, organizing school visits by HSO musicians, greeting concert audience members (pictured above), and responding to requests for temporary help in the HSO office.
To promote community support and appreciation of the Hawai’i Symphony Orchestra through Fundraising, Volunteerism, Outreach, and Education.
